Sr. Engineer

Currently, we’re looking for a senior engineer to join our team. We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, solution-oriented, flexible, entrepreneurial and conscious of both the bottom line and creating simple, well-performing software.

 

This role requires you to translate business requirements into technical specs and execute them with limited direction. You should also be comfortable switching between a user interface and back-end coding.

 

In addition, experience with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Pinterest and Snapchat advertising APIs are a big plus.

Core Qualifications

  • Solid senior-level application development history in at least one high-level language such as Python, NET, Java, etc. We primarily utilize Python 2.7.
  • Excellent JavaScript and HTML/CSS skills (single-page apps, dynamic HTML). Our AdRules UI is highly dynamic and complex, and you will be required to create new features and modify existing ones.  Your JavaScript skills should be on-par with your application/backend programming skills.
  • Vast SQL experience is an absolute must, especially experience with large result sets and complex, high-workload queries. Some SQL is assembled dynamically via the application code, so mastery is a requirement.
  • Experience building a system from the ground-up, with an understanding of how different areas of the system interact, and tuning and optimizing the workload that a system performs – being the system “mastermind”.
  • Exceptional learning skills and work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with limited direction.

Other Desired Skills

  • Domain knowledge and understanding of digital advertising or performance marketing
  • Familiarity with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Pinterest, Snapchat or other digital advertising APIs

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support integration of Facebook APIs and AdRules, our proprietary ad management solution
  • Work with our CTO to develop and enhance existing tools
  • Translate rough business requirements into engineering specs and drive them to completion; contribute to the emerging idea
  • Support the campaign management team and AdRules end-users in their execution of Facebook campaigns
  • Monitor system performance and respond to issues; a degree of on-call willingness is required

The Perfect Sr. Manager, User Acquisition Candidate

  • Manage all aspects of Facebook and Instagram advertising campaigns using our proprietary software, AdRules.
  • Oversee execution and optimization of Facebook advertising campaigns to exceed clients’ goals across many verticals.
  • Plan, manage, optimize, and report on paid social media campaigns.
  • Become an expert in Facebook advertising and the AdRules platform.
  • Write ad copy and work with graphic designers to optimize images.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of Facebook and Instagram advertising: build ads, analyze data, optimize continuously and manage creative testing.
  • Develop strategies to exceed clients’ performance goals.
  • Create images in Photoshop (or manage external designers) and write ad copy to optimize performance.
  • Analyze your ad spend and use the data to formulate your strategy.
  • Optimize ads for efficiency based on performance data using our AdRules platform.
  • Develop client-facing skills on weekly calls, deliver strategic insights and daily summaries.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong analytic, quantitative and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • BA / BS / MBA or 2+ years’ experience in high-scale, hands-on performance marketing role with Facebook Ads and User Acquisition.
  • Experience in performance marketing, online advertising, media buying, lead generation or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of ads metrics (CPI, CTR, CPC, CPM, CPA, ROAS, ROI, LTV).
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Plus: experience working with native social media ad platforms (Facebook Power Editor, Twitter Ads, Google AdWords).
  • Plus: experience with other PMD / FMP bid management platforms.
